The core mission of Project PEARLS is to break the cycle of poverty through education. We believe that by providing adequate resources and support to children and youth, they can have a brighter and better future. We also aim to develop their potential and skills so they can be changemakers and leaders in their own communities.
Let us change the world, one child at a time.
Education is at the core of our mission and we believe that it is a powerful tool that can help children and families break the vicious cycle of poverty.
To address the economic and social barriers that negatively affect one’s access to education, the PEARLS Scholarship program provides educational support in the form of school supplies, transportation allowance, food packs, vouchers for projects, tutorials, and other resources.
From the first batch of 40 Nursery scholars in 2010, we now have more than 700 scholars from preschool to college. These scholars come from four communities: Helping Land, Tondo; Bocaue, Bulacan; Naic, Cavite, and Zamboanga Sibugay.
We invite you to change a life now. Give the Gift of Education by sponsoring a scholar!
Together with LitWorld, an international non-profit organization advocating for global literacy from New York, USA, we established Literacy Clubs in different communities.
LitClubs facilitate in-depth literacy and empowerment programs for girls and boys, ages 10 to 14. More than just a literacy tutorial, it is “a space for joyful learning, creative expression, community building, and developing social-emotional skills.”
We also have “LitMoms” to help empower the Mothers, through activities focused on the 7 Strengths. Project PEARLS currently has LitClubs for girls and boys in 4 different communities, and one LitMoms club in our Bulacan community.
Community Learning Programs
The Toy Library & Time-to-Learn program aims to hone children’s cognitive and social skills through creative play and basic literacy tutorials. In accordance with the Covid-19 health protocols and social distancing requirements, this program is done on a hybrid class set-up. We conduct face-to-face sessions three times a week, and at-home modules twice a week.
On Saturdays, we do Brain Booster activities that are focused on art and crafts to develop children’s creativity and artistic skills. And on Sundays, we have the After School Program where we provide free tutorials to help kids excel academically.
We are in need of volunteers to make these programs possible. Be a “teacher for a day”! Sign up now at iVolunteer. For more information about how to volunteer with us, visit our Volunteer page.
