This day in Helping Land was a day of blessings, laughter, and fun!
Kids, parents, grandmothers and volunteers gathered inside our humble feeding and learning courtyard to celebrate the special day of a special, kind and generous human!
Let’s all meet everyone’s Kuya, Juan Villa!
He’s our Operations Manager and one of the pioneer volunteers of Project Pearls.
Everyday, he prepares meals for the hungry. May he never get tired of serving the poor.
His passion is not only cooking and serving delicious food but also making everyone laugh!
For this day’s special event, aside from the feeding, we had parlor games, a magic show, raffles and a lot of toys for the kids as prizes!
Some kids and kids at heart presented dance numbers to entertain us!
This was also their way of showing gratitude for Kuya Juan.
Before going home, goodie bags were given to everyone!
We also distributed boxes of Meal, Ready to Eat (MRE) Star Packs. A pack is nutritionally-balanced and contains between 1,100-1,300 calories. These MRE packs were donated by THRIVE, a London-based humanitarian organization.
