Before we resume our After School Program (ASP) tutorial sessions, the kids took a pre-test first in Math. For the coming weeks, this subject will be our focus in teaching.
Pre-test versus Post-test can measure a student’s academic improvement. This can also be our basis if our program is effective for them. Post-test will be given to the children after we teach all the lessons to them.
After the feeding, Tondo scholars lined up again outside the courtyard and waited for their turn to take the test which was aligned with their incoming school grade level.
While some of our volunteers assisted the kids who were taking the exam, some were busy preparing the learning materials that we’ll be using for the following weeks. Notebooks, pencils, white boards and markers were nicely prepared. Each scholar will be having an ASP notebook and a PEARLS ID tag was put on its cover.
Thank you so much Kristin Ramos for sponsoring this day’s feeding and ASP! Together with her family and friends, they also came today to volunteer with us and we were grateful!

Meanwhile, our college and high school scholars in Bulacan resume the Mentorship Program in Bulacan! The mentors are using our PEARLS Learning Center.
Every Sunday morning, our older scholars dedicate their time to assist the younger scholars with their school work. They also mentor and tutor!
This program provides the intense academic guidance that the children need. And more importantly, our older scholars also get to hone their teaching skills. Best example as well of Paying It Forward!
