Project Pearls Brain Booster
October 21, 2017 | Saturday
Helping Land, Tondo, Manila, Philippines
As many know, the United Nations is a powerful intergovernmental organization. It was established on Oct. 24, 1946 after the World War Two to prevent another conflict among countries. One of its goals is to maintain international peace and security. Its other objectives include promoting human rights, fostering social and economic development, protecting the environment, and providing humanitarian aid in cases of famine, natural disaster, and armed conflict.
United Nations has grown to 193 member countries, including the Philippines.
October is considered UN Month! To commemorate UN Month, people all over the world create flags, wear traditional clothing from their cultures, and celebrate with parades.
In line with this worldwide celebration, the kids of Helping Land made powerful slogans to show what the United Nations means for them.
Right after the feeding, we introduced this day’s Brain Booster
Our courtyard then became full of learning and creating.
With the help of volunteers, here’s what the children made!
Great job, kids!
The world we live in has thousands of different cultures and traditions but, in aiming for worldwide peace through love and unity, we are one.
Thank you for today, volunteers! We all had so much fun during another Saturday morning filled with smiles.
