At Project PEARLS, we believe in continuous learning and growth.
We recently organized an enriching seminar for our staff, volunteers, and partners on the vital topic of Trauma-Informed Care in the Development Sector. Recognizing the profound impact of trauma on individuals and communities, we took the initiative to equip our team with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide sensitive and compassionate care. The seminar delved into understanding trauma, its effects, and how it intersects with our development work. We are grateful to US Fellow Kelsey Collier-Wise for leading this important talk and sharing her expertise. Additionally, we are thankful to our Education & Literacy Program Coordinator, Flora Mae Tatoy, for adding her invaluable insights, further enriching the discussion.
Together, we are committed to creating an environment that fosters healing, empowerment, and sustainable change!
This project is part of the YSEALI Reciprocal Exchange Project that our Deputy Executive Director, Monica Aclan, is a part of.
This incredible initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative, YSEALI Professional Fellows Program, American Councils for International Education, and United Way of Vermillion.
