Meet Shan, a Grade 1 scholar who has grown through our After School Program (ASP) since joining in 2022!
Thanks to the guidance of his teachers in school and our volunteer-teachers in ASP, Shan has made great strides in subjects like Math, especially in learning about subtraction, a skill he once found challenging.
“Marami po akong natutunan sa ASP, lalo na po sa Math. Natutunan ko po kung paano mag-“subtrack” o pagbawas ng mga numero, na dati ay hindi ko po alam gawin. Dahil rin po sa ASP at sa aking guro sa school, natutunan ko po kung paano ito gawin. Masaya rin po akong uma-attend sa ASP dahil nakakasama ko po ang iba’t ibang scholars, ang aking mga kaklase, at sabay-sabay po kaming natututo”
Indeed, Shan’s story reminds us of the difference a supportive learning space can make!
