Last Saturday in Tondo, our Hope Center unexpectedly turned into a flood zone. As we welcomed children and elderly individuals, a light drizzle started. But this drizzle turned into heavy rain and suddenly caused flooding inside our center.
We couldn’t send them home right away because most had no umbrellas, raincoats, or boots.We want to express our gratitude to the unwavering dedication of our team, volunteers, and partners from Verifone (HAPI) Philippines Inc. who still served the community, even during the heavy rains, flooding, traffic.
Despite the challenging conditions, our volunteers managed to serve up nutritious meals of rice, squash in coconut milk with malunggay, and delicious fried chicken.

To make the Hope Center safer and more conducive for children, we need to raise the floors and improve the drainage system. However, we face a significant hurdle: we need at least one million pesos for materials and labor, which we currently lack.
