Decathlon PH’s Bike Sustainable Project

August 15, 2023

– Maine, Project PEARLS scholar

(“If I am chosen to receive the bike, I will use it for my studies as a service because the school I attend is far away, and the fare for a tricycle is around Php 250 to 300 for 5 days of classes. This is a heavy burden for my family and education… my parents’ earnings are not enough for our daily expenses. I am extremely grateful if I am granted this blessing, which would be a significant help for my daily commute to school.”)

Through the Bike Sustainable Project, Maine and six other scholars will now have bicycles that they can use going to school, all thanks to Decathlon Philippines!

Coaches from Decathlon also provided a cycling training to the scholars so they can be more prepared in using this mode of transportation.

Thank you so much, Decathlon team, for this impactful and eco-friendly project!
