Our Tondo community joins millions around the globe in celebrating this year’s World Read Aloud Day® (WRAD)! It was indeed a memorable and joyful celebration filled with lots of activities. Our scholars and children came together to create their own Reading Crowns, showcasing their creativity and imagination.
The Read-Aloud activity was the highlight of the event, with our volunteers from the AJVHS Book Lovers’ Club reading a great story titled “Ang Bisikleta ni Momon! (Momon’s Bicycle!)”. Everyone wore their crowns, listened attentively, shared their favorite parts of the story, and was inspired to pick up a book and read aloud to others too. To end the day on a high note, our children and volunteers held a parade in the community, showing off their Reading Crowns and spreading the joy of reading aloud to everyone around them. It was a day filled with excitement, learning, and a deeper appreciation for literacy.
Our immense gratitude goes out to our partner, LitWorld, for making this day possible for our communities! We are honored to be among those advocating for literacy as a fundamental human right worldwide.
Thank you also to our PEARLS Heroes who joined for all the help and fun too!
Happy World Read Aloud Day from all of us at Project PEARLS!
