The World Read Aloud Day 2023 celebration with the National Library of the Philippines was a great success! It was an exciting day for the Time-To-Learn scholars from Tondo and Bulacan and the LitMoms of Bulacan as they came together and shared their love of reading together with our other partners. The event featured a program that highlighted the importance of WRAD and the power of global literacy. There was also an interactive Read-Aloud time with their celebrity storyteller, Ms. Ayn Bernos.
After the program, our Time-To-Learn scholars and LitMoms created their Reading Crowns and did their very own creative Read-aloud session. They also had a mini-parade around the community! We express our heartfelt gratitude to our partner LitWorld for making this World Read Aloud Day a reality, and to the National Library of the Philippines for being one of our strongest advocates.
It is a privilege for us to join the global movement in advocating literacy as a fundamental human right. This year’s celebration serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative power of reading, inspiring individuals and communities of all ages to continue to embrace books and stories.
