Luna Bendo, 49, along with her children Reynald, 8, and Yuna, live in the other social housing building near our community in Cavite. Her husband is a fisherman, often working, and cannot go home to them due to a decline in catch. After losing their home in Bacoor to a residential fire, they were relocated to Naic, where they met the Project PEARLS community and became beneficiaries of Hunger Relief Progam.
At first, they felt conscious about falling in line to get their meals and feared being excluded because they were not from the PEARLS community. Gladly, the community welcomed them, and since then, they’ve been going to the daily feedings!
Today, our volunteers, through the generosity of our Heroes, served hearty bowls of pork noodle soup, boiled eggs, rice, and banana to Luna and her community.
Sponsor a day of feeding of over 600 meals for only PHP 20,000 or $400. For less than a $1, you may save a life.
