Happy Scholarship Day!
The day after the awarding of Scholars and giving of school supplies in Batia, Bulacan was the same kind of day for our new batch of scholars living in Helping Land, Tondo, Manila.
We have more than 200 kids who will be receiving the gift of free education for the coming school year 2016 – 2017.
Our courtyard in Helping Land was then filled with our new set of scholars. Certificates, uniforms and then bags with school supplies were distributed for them.
After School Program IDs were also prepared by our volunteer-teachers for the kids.
These IDs will be the access of our scholars to attend ASP (After School Program) every Sunday morning. Team ASP aims to help our scholars raise their academic grades and to also guide them with their studies.
Volunteers were assigned to the different stations that kids would line up while the other volunteers assisted the kids.
First line was for the certificates and then pictorial by batch.
The next line was for the uniforms and then the line beside it was for the bags.
Children were then assisted to go at the health center which is located at the back of the courtyard for the individual pictorial. These pictures will be used for their profiling.
After that, they were brought back to the courtyard to get their food before they totally exit.
This whole process was done per batch starting with the kinder level up to college.

We aim to give hope of a better life and future for our new batch of scholars. Despite of the hardship and slum community that they are currently facing and living, we make them believe that this is not forever. They will soon have a kind of life where they are comfortably living.
And the most basic step to change their life is to have the gift of education. By finishing their studies, they will be able to find a good job or a way for a better life.
