It was a movie day today for the After School Program in Helping Land. Our PEARLS kids enjoyed watching the film, “Meet The Robinsons.”
After a brief orientation with the volunteers, the whole courtyard then became a film theater and the kids entered to it.
The story was about the adventure of a young and genius boy named Lewis that travelled in the future to meet his own future family and even himself. In this story, kids realized that we should never lose hope to our dreams even though we failed at first tries in achieving it.
Since school days are fast approaching, we taught the kids to never give up on their dreams and they just have to move up and forward. This was the moral lesson of the film they have watched. And by finishing their studies, soon they will be able to reach their goals and have a better life in the future.
After the film watching, feeding was then the activity. Volunteers assisted the kids.
We would like to thank Mr. Alvin Salinas as our food sponsor today. Thank you also to our volunteers who spent their Sunday morning with the kids.
Kudos to the kind hearts of our volunteers that never get tired of sharing some love for the kids. Despite of the dirt, smell and very slum community of Helping Land, service for others always lead our way. We do this for free and yet we are happy.

Like Lewis on the film, we will never give up on our dreams and one of those is to help more children have a better life. We will never stop doing our best in letting these kids achieve their own dreams. And we believe that by giving them the gift of education and providing them healthy meals everyday that we are able to lead a straight path for them.
