Happy Mother’s Day!
For this day, we celebrate the very special day for moms all throughout the country. So our today’s activity was card-making for them and a lot more!
A photo booth in a corner was set up by the selected volunteers for the later activity.
While some of the volunteers arranged the chairs and prepare the food and drinks for the kids.
When the tasks were already done, 200 kids then entered the courtyard and the feeding activity followed.
After the feeding, kids were taught some Thank you songs. These songs were going to be dedicated for their mothers.
They were also given the task to do a thank you card for their moms. Volunteer-teachers assisted them in creating those.
When they finished creating the cards, kids were told to go home and bring their mothers to the courtyard. While waiting for the kids with their moms, volunteers re-arranged the chairs.
And when the courtyard was once again filled with kids with their moms sitting on the chairs together, the children were told to stand up and greet their mothers. After that, they sang two songs for them. It was “Iingatan Ka” by Carol Banawa and “Salamat” by Yeng Constantino.
Volunteers also sang with the kids and greeted the mothers as well.
Next week, we will do a hand-made picture frame and the photos that will be inserted to it are from today’s photo shoot.
Each kid with their mom was instructed to go to our photo booth before going home and was taken a picture from our volunteer-photographers.
As we say thank you to all the loving moms in the world, we would also like to thank Santen, Inc. for being our food sponsor today.
And also thank you to our dedicated volunteers for the love and care for these kids.
This day was really a tribute to the mothers of our PEARLS kids. Despite the hardship that they are going through with their lives, we know that they hope nothing but a better life for their children. And we at Project Pearls have the same goal as them.
Join us in providing these hopes to be in reality. To donate or to volunteer, please contact Ms. Monica thru e-mail at [email protected].
