PEARLS Outreach Program in Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan
A Mother’s Day Special
May 7, 2016
Every first Saturday of the month, we do an outreach program for the kids living in Barangay Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan. These kids together with their family were formerly residing at the Ulingan in Tondo, Manila but then now relocated at Bulacan.
Hundreds of kids were gathered on a huge courtyard for today’s activity. They were given the task of creating a card for their mothers since tomorrow will be the world-wide celebration of Mother’s Day.
Younger kids colored the hard papers with plain designs given to them and then folded it into two so it will turn into cards!
While the older kids, cut out some papers that would turn out into a flower vase and paste it into the front cover of the cards that they are making. They also used straws as the stems of the flowers and another cut-out paper to be the flowers. Then they wrote a thank you note inside the card.
Volunteers assisted the kids.
We then instructed our PEARLS kids to give the cards that they created to their moms as a way of saying “Thank You” for all the love and care that they received from them every day.
After that art activity was the feeding.
We would like to thank Ms. Jessica Kate Magadia, Ms. Marjorie De Guzman, Ms Danise Siojo and family for being our sponsors and volunteers too for today’s outreach. Thank you so much!
Truly this day is dedicated for all the mothers who wished nothing but a better life for their children.
